Join Neuroconvergence for our finale in this series of events!

This day will include a sector meeting for invited partners, as well as a public festival with dance performances, theatre, music, and panels as well as offerings for the young people; sensory play area, the Senco bus, the Gamer Bus and more!

Neuroconvergence subscribes to the social model of disability, a model made by disabled people for disabled people and which supports a neuroaffirmative practice. While we emphasise the importance of social model thinking, we welcome engagement from other perspectives to build an intersectional approach to collaboration and cross-community engagement. This means that we make space for engagement with those of differing lived experiences and from different backgrounds of thought in the spirit of inclusion and robust methodology.

A Sense of Music

A powerful live musical performance and conversation exploring a central question: What does music feel like in the body, the brain, or the soul? Five of Ireland’s most revered musical artists – Rónán Ó Snodaigh, Dani Larkin, Áine Tyrrell, Fiachna Ó Braonáin and Myles O’Reilly – come together for an immersive exploration of music’s sensory, emotional and neurodivergent dimensions.

Unveiled + “Presuming Competence” Panel

Time: 5 - 6pm

‘Tingles. Tickles. Ants crawling through the veins. Then suddenly a shooting pain. Then nothing…How am I going to make them see that I am in here?’ 

Based on his own experiences as a non-speaker, Max Whelan’s brilliant, searing debut play brims with humour and heart. Unveiled is unapologetically political, challenging assumptions and demanding a new approach to communication and education.

Unveiled will be followed by a panel on “Presuming Competence” with Adrienne Murphy, Caoimh Connolly Murphy, Max Whelan, Anna Lechleiter and more.

A Flash of Perspectives: Neurodiversity & Queerness

If you haven’t been there before, it’s good to note that the UCD campus is very large, and so additional time can be needed to find your way around.

There are 4 entrances to the UCD Student Centre.

  • Main Entrance

  • Foyer Entrance

  • Rear Entrance

  • Quad Entrance

Our team has found that navigating to and parking on the UCD campus can be quite stressful. We advise allowing extra time for this, so that you can make it to the event on time.
